Throughout my design education, I grasped the pivotal role of branding, typography, icons, and colors in shaping the digital media and design landscape. While my primary tools are freely available, which occasionally curtails customization possibilities, one element remains paramount to me: crafting a compelling logo. To achieve this, I’ve chosen Figma as my design platform.
My academic journey provided me with foundational knowledge on logo creation, but not an exhaustive dive. Recognizing this gap, I’ve earmarked the next week to immerse myself in refining the logo, establishing the brand identity, and laying out the design blueprint for the shop. Although I’m open to evolution and adjustments down the line, my initial venture is clear: a dropshipping store focusing on socks.
This choice is deliberate. Socks are compact, allowing for hassle-free mailbox deliveries, expedited shipping, and notably, they seldom find their way back as returns. Their universal necessity combined with an endless array of design possibilities makes them a versatile product. Everyone requires them, presenting countless opportunities to cater to diverse tastes.
Taking a temporary hiatus from blogging, I’m now pivoting my focus to delve deeper into specific courses that enrich my understanding of design. While I’ve selected a few, feel free to explore any courses that cover Icon Design, Colour Theory, Logo Design, and Typography. The aim is to grasp the foundational principles of branding, enabling you to meticulously craft a branding style guide, conceive a striking logo, and truly comprehend the indispensable nature of branding in today’s world.
All courses can be found on LinkedIn learning or Udemy. But also YouTube has some great free courses.
